During a rally on Thursday, February 10, 2005, Milwaukee Alderman Michael McGee used the word "faggots" to describe criminals who viciously beat Frank Jude, Jr.

HRL-PAC strongly supported the purpose of the rally:  to fight hate and hate crimes.  However, we could not overlook Ald. McGee's use of the word "faggots" during his speech.  It degraded and demeaned gays and lesbians, many of whom have had to endure hate crimes themselves.

On February 11, HRL-PAC sent a letter to Ald. McGee protesting his comments.
