ELIZABETH BURMASTER won 60% of the statewide vote for State Superintendent of Public Instruction in today's primary
election!

Gregg Underheim took second place in the contest with 26% of the vote.
The Human Rights League Political Action Committee (HRL-PAC) has
endorsed Elizabeth Burmaster for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
HRL-PAC works to elected candidates who will fight for and defend equality for Wisconsin’s
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender residents.
"Throughout her distinguished career in education, Elizabeth Burmaster has demonstrated time and
time again her commitment to creating a safe, inclusive educational environment for all children," said Paul Williams, HRL-PAC
President. "She is not just someone who understands the unique needs of gay and lesbian youth, she is an educator who fights
for the right to of all children to quality and harassment-free education."
"Burmaster has invested in LGBT youth through a grant to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education
Network (GLSEN), and she has supported anti-bullying policies and suicide prevention programming," said Williams. "She is
a quality leader who works to build a quality educational environment for youth."
The State Superintendent race is the only state-wide office requiring a primary election. Voters
will face several additional critical races in the April 5th general election, including Milwaukee school board
