Center Advocates PAC
Please share these endorsements with your friends and family and make the commitment to vote on Tuesday, February 19th.

Center Advocates PAC is Wisconsin's only group dedicated to electing candidates who will work for and defend equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) people.

Since 1997, Center Advocates PAC (formerly HRL-PAC) has supported candidates who will work for and defend lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality.  Whether through direct financial assistance to pro-LGBT
candidates or through voter education campaigns, Center Advocates PAC is committed to building a better, more responsive government for Wisconsin's LGBT community.

Center Advocates PAC affiliated with Center Advocates, Inc. early in 2007 to  expand our effectiveness in advocating for LGBT equality and promoting legislative policy change to improve the lives of LGBT people and families in Wisconsin.

"My community involvement is vast and diverse.  I am a product of the 12th District, born and raised here.  I have worked with youth in my district as a CLC bilingual tutor....and "I have worked the older white constituency, which have been in the district for generations at SOC (Southside Organizing Committee).  I have consistently worked with the predominant Latino immigrant population in my district via my volunteer work with my family's church, Holy Trinity Guadalupe, my extensive work in 2004 working to get out the Latino vote on the Kerry-Edwards campaign, and also during my work with SOC, where we also facilitated all-Spanish and bilingual English/Spanish meetings for the growing Spanish-speaking constituency.

"I am also comfortable moving among the young professionals and the LGBT community in the more affluent part of my district, in Walker's Point.  I know that I can bridge that divide that seems to separate this prosperous area and the rest of the district, which struggles with issues such as poverty, gangs, and slum landlords."

Flaherty

Patrick Flaherty

"During the more than fourteen years that I've been a 3rd District homeowner, I've led efforts at the city and state level to defend our quality of life and improve city services.

As a nonprofit manager and progressive leader, I have delivered results: winning policy changes; overseeing multi-million dollar budgets; building public-private partnerships; and organizing our community to obtain much-needed services. I have learned that government can make a difference in people's lives - and how frustrating it can be when government responds too slowly."

"Protecting and assuring equal rights for all people is absolutely fundamental. My message of economic development, safe neighborhoods, and affordable housing is secondary to the fight against discrimination. I am thankful and humbled by the Center Advocates PAC board for their decision to support me in this very important campaign to represent the residents of Milwaukee's 6th Aldermanic district."
